Zirconia-toughened alumina for ceramic hip components.
ELEC®plus is HiPer Medical's zirconia-toughened alumina (ZTA). The existing website assigns the material to femoral heads, acetabular liners and revision heads and references ISO 6474-2.
ZTA describes an alumina matrix containing zirconia. Specific material properties must be taken from the approved material specification; this page does not add unverified values.

ELEC®plus is the ZTA ceramic product family manufactured by HiPer Medical AG. BIOLOX® delta is a ceramic product from CeramTec. These names identify different manufacturers and products; they are not generic names for all ceramic femoral heads.
ARTIQO lists both ELEC®plus heads from HiPer Medical and BIOLOX® delta heads from CeramTec in its femoral-head instructions for use. That document describes the covered ceramic heads under ISO 6474-2. Its statements apply to the products and combinations specified there; they do not establish universal interchangeability.
ARTIQO also describes ELEC®plus as a ceramic without chromium oxide. Material composition alone does not establish a clinical advantage or a lower allergy risk.
